About Us |
|
Your Fire Department is a multi-faceted resource utilizing our Island’s most valuable asset, dedicated volunteers. Our core of 25+ volunteers train in fire suppression, wildland firefighting, First Aid and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) skills. Many of them learn additional Marine and boat-handling skills.
Firefighters make themselves available as much as possible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in order to respond to your emergencies. Besides training and calls, the volunteers do routine maintenance checks on the apparatus and fire and aid equipment. Fire preplanning and fire and prevention programs are constantly being reviewed and updated to meet the needs of the community. |
